Project Archivist (fixed term for 12 months)
Full Time: 37.5 hours Remuneration: £28k

Thanks to an award from the National Cataloguing Grants Fund, we are seeking an experienced archivist to implement the project to
catalogue the collections of the East London Mosque Trust (ELMT). With the support of a steering group of local archivists and stakeholders, you will complete the cataloguing of the collection, create an online catalogue, and build organisational knowledge within the ELMT to ensure the future sustainability of the collection at the end of the project term. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to organise key activities to deliver the project within a tight timeframe.

We are looking for self motivated, resourceful and creative individuals to join our dynamic fundraising team as Mosque Relations
Officer. The post holders will be responsible for establishing, developing and managing a network of sustainable relationships with
mosques and with such parties or groups which influence mosques within agreed regions. The Mosque Relations Officers will work
closely with local mosques and other community organisations and leaders to raise funds and awareness within communities.
The Successful Candidates must have:
-Previous experience of community engagement role (particularly with mosques).
-Experience of engaging and working with different levels of management within mosques, Islamic Centres and other Islamic
Organisations.
-Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community and competent in at least one other community language (like Urdu,
Bengali, Arabic)
-IT literate with ability to use MS packages, particularly Word and Powerpoint.
-Strong organisational skills i.e. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring
systems etc.
The nature of work requires the individuals to often work evenings and weekends with occasional travel nationally. The post holder must have strong motivation and empathy toward Islamic Reliefs mission and values.

Trainee Placement opportunity
This is a trainee placement for those who may not have considered working in heritage or who have come up against certain barriers in
working in heritage. The placement is paid and is supported by an organisation called Permeate who work hard to help the trainee
achieve their goals within a set training plan. Both the organisation and trainee are given advice, support and mentoring
throughout the placement.
