|Biographical detail : ||The last ruler of the Abbadid dynasty of Seville, Spain.
After his father's death in 1069 he succeeded the throne. In 1071 he annexed Cordoba and Murcia under his domain. In 1085, Alfanso VI king of Leon and Castile had captured Toledo and was eyeing towards Seville. Al Mutamid seeking the help of Yusuf ibn Tashufin, who had just conquered Morocco, dealt a crushing defeat to Alfanso in 1990. But Yusuf ibn Tashufin now decided to dethrone al Mutamid. Seville was captured and al Mutamid was sent to Morocco, where he remained till his death.
The poems that Mutamid wrote while he was in the prison, was translated in English and in Urdu by Iqbal: Qaid Khane men Mutamid ki faryad.

|He was Abu Al-Qasim ibn Abbad ibn Muhammad, also knowed as Al-Mu'tamid, last Sultan of Sevilla from the Abbadid family.
Famous his poetry and his respect for christians, so much that his daughter left Islam for marry King Alfonso of Leon, who knows why, love? or power? or real believe on Christianity?
