Sardar Shaukat was a leader of the Pakistan movement and a close associate of Jinnah. In 1947, being one of the founders of Pakistan, he assumed his seat in the Cabinet, but later on he distanced himself from active politics.
Sardar Shaukat published his memoirs, The Nation that lost its Soul, a tribute to the greatness of Jinnah and the decline of political and social morality in Pakistan. He remained a much-respected figure in Pakistan.
Shaukat Hyat Khan was born a scion of a leading Punjabi family and clan of Pakistan who followed the family calling of military service in British India.
