Biographical detail : Novelist, photographer, film critic and political activist.

Sahab, also known as Manny Shirazi, had passions of feminism and the third world. Her fatherís anti-imperialism profoundly influenced her.

Manny Shiraziís novel Javady Alley (1984) was a story of a working-class girlís childhood in 1950s Tehran and Siege of Azadi Square (1991) was political.

Manny Shirazi came to England due to a life-threatening heart problem and spent her life working at the most menial of jobs to support her. She joined the collective that produced the Londonís feminist magazine Spare Rib.

Manny Shirazi wrote extensively in English and Farsi that published in Britain and Iran and held photographic exhibitions between 1979 and 1995.
