Shaista Ikramullah was a bold activist in the Pakistan movement, an eminent parliamentarian, an accomplished diplomat, a prolific writer and a freelance journalist.

Shaista Ikramullah fought for economic and political empowerment of Muslim women during British Raj. She helped preserve the great Muslim tradition of craftsmanship, particularly in metalwork and weaving.

Shaista a grande dame of Pakistan was born in Calcutta in the eminent Suharwardy family and died in Karachi.
