Zebunissa was famous for her patronage of poets and scholars. She herself was a poetess and had great proficiency in the Arabic and Persian languages. She had a large private library, which contained beautifully illuminated copies of important literary works, where she used to spend most of her time in pursuit of knowledge.
Zebunissa’s penname was Makhfi.
