He was an original thinker, though definitely influenced by his predecessor al Halaj. Ibn Arabi mentioned him several times in his Al Futuhat Al Makkiya.
He authored Nawaqif and Mukhatabat. His son or his grandson collected his scattered writings and had them published.
His collection was translated by A J Arberry and published in 1935.
