|Biographical detail : || One of the greatest Iranian poets of early 20th. century.
Born at Mashad, he succeeded his father Saburi as the court poet of Muzaffaruddin Shah of Iran in 1896-1907. Later he broke away from the court and became the editor of Nau Bahar and the head of a literary group called Daniskada.
He went to Istanbul in 1915-16 and after returning led an active political life He was appointed minister of education in 1946. He also wrote essays, novels and treatise on different literary and historical subjects.
