Jurjani was a leading theologian of the 15th century. He was educated in Herat and Egypt and went to Constantinople in 1374, but came back to Iran and settled in Shiraz. When Timur conquered Shiraz in 1387, he took him back to Samarqand, his capital, where Jurjani remained until Taimur's death in 1405.
Only but 30 of his books are extant. Jurjani’s best known of them Kitab al Tarifat was translated and edited by G Flugal, in 1845, from Arabic.
