Across Muslim civil society there has been a vibrant call for participation in the local government elections taking place in over 130 councils in England on 7 May 2026. A feature is a trend to question the local track record of the established Labour and Conservative Parties, with a growing support for the Greens, independent candidates and newly formed local alliances.
